Waterfall Tour!
We took on the Marinette County Waterfall Tour, and brought along our friend Mike and his Honda Sabre. We ended dirt biking on some pretty rough dirt roads, but Mike stuck with us! (not like he could really turn around anyway...)

We found ourselves on a less than single lane wide blacktop road doing Skyline Drive just outside of Cañon City! After that, we had to explore the Sand Dunes National Park and start our long trek back home!

We took on the Royal Gorge with Raft Masters and we conquered it (even though it took a lot out of us!) After that, we decided to see what 20-some miles of washboard, rough gravel/dirt road was like by going through Phantom Canyon, and it was rough!

We checked out Garden of the Gods, and the next day took on Pikes Peak! After that, we had to go see the famous Royal Gorge bridge!
Guanella Pass to Colorado Springs

We took off from Guanella Pass after putting air in a low rear tire. After the awesome Coors factory tour, we noticed the same tire was low on air again. Rocky Mountain Cycle Plaza was awesome enough to get us in that day (July 3rd) to fix the issue with the tube, and replaced a worn tire and tube on the other KLR. Once we got to the hotel, Koty finally washed one of his two shirts!

We took off from Green Bay, Wisconsin and headed for Guanella Pass, Colorado! On the way, we outran a storm coming into Sterling, Colorado, figured out how to navigate a phone book, replaced an exhaust bolt we lost, took on Rocky Mountain National Park, and setup camp in Guanella Pass!

This is putting Sargent's aftermarket KLR650 seat head to head with Kawasaki's OEM seat. NOTE We bought one right from Sargent, and it had a 2 week lead time as well as paid shipping. We bought the other one from Revzilla for the same price as directly from Sargent, they threw in free shipping, AND I got it in under a week.

    I ordered the passenger backrest to come in tomorrow. I think it will use the same holes that you mounted the saddlebag stays with. I wonder if I should wait to install the backrest until I get the saddlebags installed.

    According to the instructions on the link I supplied below, the passenger pegs must be removed. I note you never did that. Was it not necessary?

  • @crupert23225
    @crupert23225 3 роки тому

    I am about to embark on this project myself. I also have a Honda OEM luggage rack. Will it use the same hardware and holes as the saddlebags? And if so, I assume I'll have extra hardware once it's all done. Lastly, assuming the luggage rake uses the same holes, does it go inside the saddlebag bracket or outside? Also, the link to the Honda instructions you provided is no longer working.

  • @crupert23225

    For those who still have the stock seat, does the front seat have to be removed in this process?

    I have yet to get in there and see the exact spot for a jack, Have you noticed the handle bars are a bit short on the bike? I have a 014 like yours and if I try to get comfortable on the bike my arms are fully extended to reach the grips, I am 6 foot 1 inch with long arms too, I wonder if getting longer bars would be much more comfortable for me? any thouhgts, thanks. there's a lot more you can add to that. I have a 2015 and it has, skid plate, goldwing center stand, goldwing floorboards, front floorboards with heel/toe shifter, socal pathfinder foglamp/runninglamps with turn signal module, slipstream charcoal gray windscreen, spoiler, black clutch/brake levers, floor boards, leather tool bag, back rest, luggage rack, Corbin dual saddle, 2" handlebar risers, clear bra on rear fender including under seat, front fender and fairing, and on the gas tank near the saddle. also run dynamic balancer and have replaced rubber stems with metal stems. also have Triton ergo-3 black highway pegs on it and put the cigarette adapter on the right nacelle rather than under the seat.

    Do you have to have the windshield risers in order to use these? i really don't like the riser and would prefer not to have to install it
